Our story begins in 2017 when a tailoring virtuoso with over 30 years of experience under her stylish belt (Hi mom 👋🤓) set out to craft a few extraordinary bags for those dearest to her heart…
Initially conceived as one-time gifts for her closest friends, the handmade bags received an overwhelming response. So much so, that it was evident that this passion project had to be pursued further. Fueled by our love and excitement for crafting unique, handmade pieces, my mom and I paired up, and we decided to nurture the “Manufaktur Borni” into what is now known as Manufabo®: a curated collection of exclusive and innovative bags “for the few”.
To this day, every bag we create is a labor of love, handcrafted in Germany under fair conditions, just as if each bag was (like our first) a personal gift to our dearest friends.

We source a significant portion of our materials locally in Germany and throughout the EU.
As a small, family-run business, we are committed to contribute as much as possible to battling the numerous sustainability issues that plague the traditional fashion industry (supply chains). While some components originate in Asia, we are dedicated to gradually phasing them out as we move forward. Our environmental commitment extends beyond sourcing; it encompasses plastic-free packaging, climate-neutral shipping, and a relentless pursuit of enhancing our environmental footprint. Our ultimate goal? A fully European sourcing, production, and craftsmanship model. Quality over quantity.
