Every Manufabo® bag is a unique design, adjusted for functionality and elegance, and crafted to maintain a sleek and sophisticated appearance. You will not find our designs en masse in any ordinary marketplace; each piece is unique and carefully crafted. Our bags, created by a skilled tailor with over four decades of experience, are known for their elegant, functional, and human-centric cuts. They look good and fulfill their purpose in real-life scenarios.

Manufabo® was founded by a skilled tailor with over 40 years of experience and her son, Alex. We combine our passion for crafting unique, handmade bags with a commitment to quality and sustainability.

Manufabo® is proudly based in Bad Berleburg, Germany. All our products are handmade in Germany with care and precision.

Manufabo® started in 2017 when a skilled tailor, with over 40 years of experience, created handbags as personal gifts for her close friends. She sought to create bags that were heartfelt, personal, and distinct from what was available in the market, giving her friends something truly unique. The positive response to her functional, elegant, and unique designs led to the establishment of Manufabo® as a full-fledged handbag manufactory. While our collection has grown, each bag is still crafted with the same care and attention to detail as those first gifts.

The angular Manufabo® logo and unique font symbolize an extraordinary individual. The rough edges represent individuality, honesty, and authenticity. The letters in the Manufabo® logo inspire the corresponding font set, characterized by its edges and angles.

A person’s “rough edges” have a positive connotation, as they stand for individuality, honesty and self-realization.

The ƒ in our logo plays a unique role, featuring distinctive crossbars in asymmetrical rows, unlike the other regular glyphs. This intentional design choice symbolizes our embrace of uniqueness and departure from conventional design patterns. The asymmetrical and bold structure of the ƒ reflects our commitment to breaking the mold and celebrating individuality.

While the letter “F” is often associated with “Fail”, the deeper meaning of the Manufabo® ƒ transcends this correlation. The ƒ, through its distinctiveness, breaks regularity and imparts the symbolic “corners and edges” to our logo, embodying individuality, honesty, and authenticity.

In essence, the ƒ embodies the spirit of the white raven—a symbol of rarity, uniqueness, and exceptional values. Initially misunderstood, the white raven becomes a token of undeniable uniqueness, authenticity, and beauty when fully grasped.

Manufabo® encourages you to look past the superficial “F” for fail and instead embrace the uniqueness that defies conventional expectations. We want to make sure that when you carry a Manufabo® bag, you are not just carrying a piece of exceptional craftsmanship; you are embracing a symbol of your own uniqueness and strength, standing out proudly like the white raven.

The name “Manufabo” is derived from “Manufaktur Borni”, the artisanal design studio for handmade confections of our directrice. The individual elements of our name take up upon that origin, and continue to celebrate authentic artisanal beauty:

MANU — manus (Latin) = hand
ƒA — facere (Latin) = make
BO — beau (French) = beautiful

Our Manufabo® bags are handmade by us in Germany, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship under fair working conditions. Each bag is meticulously crafted in Germany, embodying our commitment to excellence and sustainability.

We prioritize sourcing the majority of our materials within the EU. Our premium faux leathers come from Spain, while our yarn and rubber bands are sourced from the Czech Republic. For hardware and zippers, we partner with certified Chinese suppliers adhering to the Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

We actively reduce our ecological footprint by increasing the share of European components and enhancing sustainable practices. Our commitment extends beyond sourcing, as we use plastic-free packaging and offer climate-neutral shipping through Deutsche Post and DHL. Additionally, we support environmental sustainability by participating in the dual system “Der Grüne Punkt” for responsible packaging recycling.

We are committed to continuously enhancing our sustainable practices. This includes sourcing materials from within the EU, using plastic-free packaging, offering climate-neutral shipping, and participating in recycling programs like “Der Grüne Punkt.” Our transport CO2 emissions are offset by Deutsche Post and DHL through investments in internationally recognized climate protection projects.

Our bags are handmade in Germany under fair labor conditions. We focus on quality over quantity, producing limited editions and custom-made products that reflect our dedication to sustainable practices and respect for both people and the environment.

We aim to ship your order within 0–2 business days after confirming availability. Delivery times vary based on your location, and we ship from Germany.

Yes. Free shipping is available, depending on your location and the product(s) chosen.

Express shipping is not one of our standard options. However, please contact us to check if we can accommodate your request. We will do our best to make it happen.

Once your order is dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email with a tracking link. If you did not, please contact us.

Yes. If you need to change your shipping address, please contact us immediately. We can update the address as long as the order has not been dispatched.

You can cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the items by informing us clearly, such as via email. You may use our convenient revocation form. See the Returns tab for more info.

Yes. You can return products in new, unused condition within 14 days of delivery. Please make sure to inform us within that 14-day period.

To start a return, follow these steps:

1. Inform us within 14 days (e.g., via mail) that you would like to return your order
2. Send your order back to the provided return address in new, unused condition
3. Receive your refund (after we have received and verified the returned products)

As the buyer, you are responsible for the return shipping costs. While many retailers offer free returns, this practice significantly impacts the environment. By opting not to cover return shipping, we encourage mindful purchasing, which helps reduce carbon emissions associated with e-commerce returns. We are confident that our products, designed for longevity and excitement, will meet your expectations, making returns a rare necessity.

If products are returned in a condition that is not as received (e.g., used or damaged), you may be held responsible for the reduction in value. Please ensure items are returned in their original, unused condition to avoid any deductions from your refund.

If you receive a defective product, please contact us within 14 days of delivery to arrange a return or exchange. We take great care in checking every order to ensure quality and accuracy, so such issues are extremely rare.

Personalized or custom-made products cannot be returned.

We process your refund within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice, using the original payment method. We may hold the refund until we have received and verified the returned products.
